Innovatics's Digital Transformation team undertook a transformative project for a prominent retail industry player and supermarket chain in the Indian market. The client's operations spanned diverse data repositories encompassing sales orders, logistics tracking, warehouse management, inventory databases, product catalogs, and employee records, each hosted on disparate platforms.
Design and implement a data warehouse and reporting structure to address requirements of their FMCG brand. The FMCG brand and other franchisees operate approximately 120+ outlets. The data solution must provide strategic and tactical decision support to all level management.
The client sought to generate comprehensive business intelligence reports by consolidating data from their primary platforms: BIZOM and SAP. However, syncing data between the two platforms posed a significant challenge. Additionally, using APIs directly for data retrieval would impact the performance of the BI reports.
Innovatics implemented scheduled data extraction from POS, BIZOM, SAP etc. every 30 minutes to ensure the availability of the latest data. A log mechanism was set up to track activities, data pull, and any failures, facilitating easy issue resolution.
Innovatics collaborated with support teams from both BIZOM, SAP and more to establish clear data mappings and object structures. This ensured accurate data transfer across platforms.
Innovatics developed dedicated pipelines, including 40+ pipelines for data retrieval and specific requirements. The pipelines facilitated seamless data integration, combining automated and manual data pulls.
Overcoming the complexities of mapping data between separate platforms with differing structures and constraints.
Optimizing Azure Data Factory activities to minimize costs and deliver a cost-effective solution.
Ensuring seamless automation and control in the integration pipelines, including environment variable management, authentication, and dynamic pagination.
Successfully developing Power BI dashboards in parallel with integration pipelines to provide timely insights and meet client requirements.
The solution designed by Innovatics furnishes insights into performance of each employee and illustrates the revenue generated across various categories, channels and regions. The implementation of Innovatics' solution brought transformative outcomes for the client in their business. They experienced:
Streamlined operations with a unified view of data from various platforms. Optimize resource utilization with in-depth analytics. Monitor workflow efficiency and streamline operations for Beat wize order insightsmaximum productivity.
Real-time access to updated data, ensuring agility and responsiveness to market changes. Allowing to explore orders based on outlets to understand regional performance. Identify trends, capitalize on opportunities and enhance service in specific areas.
Actionable insights through Power BI reports, enabling data-driven decision-making. Gain insights into field operations by tracking scheduled outlet visits versus actual visits. Understand how many outlets provided orders, enabling strategic planning and customer engagement.
Enhanced efficiency, optimized processes, and increased profitability. Innovatics’ solution revolutionized the client’s data management and empowered them to thrive in the competitive retail landscape.
Innovatics successfully delivered a robust, scalable, and cost-effective solution, enabling the client to harness the power of data integration and business intelligence to drive their retail operations forward.
Innovatics proposed a state-of-the-art solution by building an Azure-based pipeline. The solution involved fetching, saving, transforming, and publishing data between BIZOM and SAP, using Azure Data Factory (ADF) and Azure SQL database.
